Original Press Release:

New Drill from Metabo Provides Extremely High Torque in a Compact, Lightweight Tool

West Chester, PA, August 2002 - Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for various industrial, construction and welding applications, has released a compact, lightweight drill with extremely high torque. The new BE622SR+L features a triple reduction gear train that allows up to 310 inch lbs. of torque. The drill is ideal for working with auger bits, Forstner-type bits, and hole saws, as well as for driving wood screws and stirring and mixing many different materials.

The drill incorporates a patented reversing feature, making it easy to use for both right-and left-handed operators. An extra long side handle helps increase operator control and reduce fatigue.

Metabo's exclusive S-automatic slip clutch stops the tool in the event of a bit jam, helping to protect both the operator and the tool. A winding protection grid protects the tool's motor from airborne debris and increases tool life by up to 5 times. An aluminum die-cast gear housing efficiently dissipates heat, further increasing tool life. Variospeed electronic speed control enables the user to vary the speed infinitely from the lowest value to the maximum, and matches the drill's speed to the load value-the lower the selected speed, the quicker the drill will come to a stop.

The BE622SR+L weighs only 4.6 lbs. and has a capacity of up to 5/8" in steel and 9/16" in softwood. Rated input is 620 W with output power at 360 W. No-load speed is 0-550 RPM and speed at rated load is 330 RPM. The drill's collar diameter is 43 mm and
spindle thread is 1/2"-20 UNF. The cable sleeve of the tool is designed to hold the chuck key, screwdriver bits and retaining bush.
