Dresser® Announces Availability of Its "Take Flight" Program for Customers Interested in Reducing Their Carbon Footprint

Program Features Up to 120 Day-PLUS Trial of the Becker® ZERO BLEED(TM) Valve Regulator Pilot
Elk Grove Village, IL (July 30, 2010) - Dresser today announced "Take Flight", a global program that encourages the energy industry to evaluate and reduce its carbon footprint. This Dresser program offers customers a trial of the Becker® ZERO BLEED(TM) Valve Regulator Pilot (VRP) to install on their existing equipment to evaluate the reduction in fugitive emissions they can expect.
In most natural gas applications a control valve typically requires two pieces of instrumentation- a positioner and a controller. These two devices exhibit high rates of methane fugitive emissions, a potent greenhouse gas. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, high-bleed pneumatic controllers are among the largest sources of vented methane by equipment type in the oil & natural gas industry.
"The Becker VRP is the only piece of instrumentation on the market that combines the actions of both the positioner and a controller into a single device while completely eliminating greenhouse gas emissions" stated Greg Giernoth, Dresser Marketing Director for Becker Control Valves.
The "Take Flight" program offers up to 120-day trial, PLUS the shipping time to a customer's evaluation location. During the Becker ZERO BLEED VRP trial, customers will be able to perform a full technical evaluation and assess the reduction of emissions at their installation site.
