Omron's New D3D Miniature Door Switch is Cost-Effective, Easy to Install and Safe to Operate

SCHAUMBURG, IL (August 20, 2003) - The new D3D miniature door switch from Omron offers appliance and industrial equipment manufacturers the benefit of lower cost along with improved installation productivity and high reliability. The simple, low-cost switch snaps easily into a panel and utilizes a standard, removable crimp connector for wiring ease. The switch is available in both plunger and lever configurations, both of which require low operating force for lower mechanical stress. The D3D's gold crossbar contacts along with drip/spill resistant sealing in the plunger style ensure reliable performance.

The D3D switch utilizes wiping "rocker" contacts that offer silent operation and virtually eliminate the possibility of arcing. This capability, proven to be a safe technology with newer CFC-free refrigerants in Europe and Japan, is valuable as North American phases in similar refrigerant families.

The D3D is ideal for appliance applications but is also designed for use with home electronics and factory equipment. Its no-arc performance makes it especially applicable for appliances utilizing refrigerants.

The D3D switch is currently available from stock with list prices starting at $1.31 each.
