Product Applications: Design SND 18 provides controlled, downward directed area lighting, in two matching sizes. It is ideal for illuminating parking lots, parking garages, pathways, parks, malls, shopping centers or building grounds and the like. The refined domed shape of Design SND 18, as well as the choice of two companion housing sizes, and three mounting options, allows fixtures to work efficiently and unobtrusively in virtually any corporate, governmental, institutional or light industrial public or private outdoor environ.
Product Description: Design SND 18 is the latest addition to Quality Lighting's popular Design SND family. It is characterized by prominent, one-piece semi-spherical light housing that casts a broad beam of unobstructed ambient area illumination. The domed top in either 18-inch or 24-inch diameters is visually balanced by a rectangular mounting arm. Top and arm surfaces are smooth and completely seamless, with rounded edges to reduce wind resistance and prevent contaminant build-up.
A choice of reflector systems allows four different distribution patterns to be specified, for maximum customization to suit applications. Each reflector system is rotatable in 90° increments and has sharp beam cut-offs for precise lighting control. The 18-inch model particularly lends itself to lower pedestrian-level mounting heights.
Design SND 18 and 24 can be specified for post-top or wall-mount installations and accommodates metal halide, metal halide pulse-start or high-pressure sodium lamps from 70 to 400 watts. A range of electrical and light control options may be specified.
Construction & Finishes: Design SND 18 and 24 housings are constructed of one-piece heavy-gauge spun aluminum. A stainless-steel piano hinge, secured with vibration resistant captive screw-type fasteners, connects a lens door to the housing. The thermal- and shock-resistant glass lens is completely sealed and gasketed to the lens door, to protect against weather elements and debris.
All Design SND 18/24 components are finished with a polyester powder-coat after enduring a five-step pretreatment process, including an iron phosphate priming stage, for superior coating adhesion and maximum corrosion resistance throughout the life of the fixture. Standard finish color is black, but white, bronze, silver, gray and a range of custom colors may be specified.
Design SND 18/24 is UL and CUL listed for wet location use and meets or exceeds all ASTM requirements, including those for 1,000-hour salt spray endurance testing.
