KODAK i700 Series Scanners Set a New Standard for Production Capture to Help Businesses Drive More Efficient Document Processes

o New i700 Series Scanners will be shown at CeBIT in Hanover, Germany, hall 3, booth 29 from March 3-8, 2009.

February 09, 2009 - A new duo of digital trailblazers from Kodak will afford next generation document capture technology to the wide range of enterprises seeking to accelerate access to information and dedicate more time to their core business processes. Capable of delivering image quality of 300 dots per inch (dpi) at 200 dpi speeds, the KODAK i730 and i750 Scanners rapidly extract specific content for immediate use across information dependent workflows. The new scanners join the previously released KODAK i780 Scanner to offer businesses one of the most competitive selections of mid-to-high volume production capture devices.

"With no end in sight to the tremendous growth of documents and unstructured data, businesses increasingly require the type of technologies that advance how their individuals use and manage critical information," said Richard Broden, EAMER Product Marketing Manager, Document Imaging, Kodak's Graphic Communications Group. "Input from our customers, partners and industry peers helped Kodak develop an entire series of innovative document scanners whose high level of image processing capabilities will define the next age in mid-to-high volume production capture."

Rapid scanning capabilities combined with image quality of 300 dpi and Kodak's advanced image processing features enhance how businesses can address the challenge of unstructured documents and information. According to a study from AIIM, unstructured records in the form of statements, receipts and invoices, account for 80 percent of all business information and steadily grows at an annual rate of 36 percent.

Aided by the automated image correction features of Kodak's Perfect Page Imaging Technology, the i700 Series Scanners deliver digital images with precise accuracy and quality, often better than the original paper document. This superior level of performance enables users to utilize optical character recognition (OCR) and other intelligent detection features, significantly cutting down on document processing time and costs.

Gartner Research, in its 2009 outlook of top strategic technologies for business, predicts that tools that allow users to make faster, better and more informed decisions will be particularly valuable in a difficult business environment.

To maintain a reliable, uninterrupted workflow, the i730 and i750 Scanners offer throughput speeds of 90 pages per minute (ppm) and 115 ppm, respectively. Automated feeding technology reduces manual document sorting, making it easy to capture mixed batches of documents, photos and tear sheets for processing, archiving and sharing. At rated speed, the i700 Series Scanners deliver a full range of image processing features including duplex scanning, automatic page orientation based on content, auto image deskew, image cropping, colour dropout and blank page deletion. A Triple Ultrasonic multi feed detection function also helps businesses eliminate potential scanning errors and workflow logjams.

The i700 Series Scanners build upon Kodak's legacy of industry leading production capture solutions and are available from its usual authorised document imaging channel partners with list prices starting from Euros26,990. They will be shown at CeBIT in Hanover, Germany, hall 3, booth 29 from March 3-8, 2009.
