Océ Enhances Document Management Capabilities with New Version of Award Winning Océ Engineering Exec(R) Software

Oce Engineering Exec(R) 3.1 is the only software available that integrates print management, distribution and archiving of technical documentation in a single, seamless solution

Chicago, IL, February 12, 2002 - Oce, a leading supplier of digital document management and delivery technology, announced the release of Oce Engineering Exec 3.1, the next generation of its suite of software solutions that automates technical document archiving, distribution and printing activities for large and small companies. The new version, which will be available March 1, 2002, offers enhanced print management functionality, full PDF support, a redesigned Web user interface, new entry-level print management solutions, and more robust document archiving, organization and control. The previous release, Version 3.0, was awarded the CADENCE July 2001 Editors' Choice Award.

The Oce Engineering Exec suite includes Oce Print Execo Pro print management software and Oce Doc Execo digital archiving software.

Oce Print Exec Pro 3.1 software offers improved output control to Oce and other brand printers, providing users with the ability to more tightly manage their print operations, increase efficiencies and reduce printing costs. Through a partnership with Adobe, the new version offers Adobe certified technology that supports PDF printing to any printer, including those that do not support PDF natively. Oce Print Exec Pro 3.1 software is now also available in new entry-level modules which are easily upgraded when additional functionality is needed.

Oce Engineering Exec 3.1 also offers improved document archiving features. The most time consuming part of importing documents into a digital archive is the indexing process when search and identification attributes are assigned. Oce Doc Exec 3.1 provides the ability to drop a file into a folder where attributes are automatically assigned, significantly reducing the amount of time needed to archive valuable information while preserving the ability to perform simple and complex searches. The new enhanced export function provides users with a more flexible file naming process. New security functionality provides enhanced flexibility and greater ease-of-use to administrators when assigning settings to definable user groups.

"Today's successful enterprise is fueled with a continual flow of information. Critical documents must be quickly located, produced and delivered on-demand," said Joyce Virnich, vice president of marketing for the Oce Wide Format Printing Systems business unit. "With Oce Engineering Exec 3.1, companies can tightly manage their entire print, distribution and archive environment with a single powerful solution. The new version gives our customers even more control to quickly access drawings and designs, provide on-time delivery of information, and keep costs in check."
