Distributed and Drive Amplifiers have all-positive bias scheme.

Press Release Summary:

Respectively operating from DC to 30 GHz and 2–30 GHz, distributed amplifiers CMD164 and CMD165 deliver >12 dB of gain with output 1 dB compression point of +15 dBm and noise figure of 2.4 dB at 10 GHz. Operating from DC to 20 GHz, distributed amplifier CMD173 delivers >15 dB of gain with output 1 dB compression point of +18 dBm and noise figure of 2 dB at 10 GHz. Driver amplifier CMD166 operates from 20–40 GHz with 9 dB of gain and output 1 dB compression point of +17 dBm.

Original Press Release:

Custom MMIC Adds Four New Products to Its Growing Line of Amplifiers

Westford, MA – Custom MMIC, (www.CustomMMIC.com), a developer of performance-driven monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs), has added four new amplifiers in die form to its product family: the CMD164, 165, and 173 distributed amplifiers, and the CMD166 driver amplifier.

The new products boast ultra-wideband performance, low noise figure, low current consumption, and an all positive bias scheme. Concerning the distributed amplifiers, the CMD164 (DC-30 GHz) and the CMD165 (2-30 GHz) each deliver greater than 12 dB of gain with an output 1 dB compression point of +15 dBm and noise figure of 2.4 dB at 10 GHz. The CMD173 operates from DC-20 GHz and delivers greater than 15 dB of gain with an output 1 dB compression point of +18 dBm and noise figure of 2 dB at 10 GHz. As a driver amplifier, the CMD166 operates from 20-40 GHz with 9 dB of gain and an output 1 dB compression point of +17 dBm. The new amplifiers are 50 ohm matched designs, thus eliminating the need for external DC blocks and RF port matching. They offer full passivation for increased reliability and moisture protection and are perfect alternatives to higher cost hybrid amplifiers. Applications include microwave radio and VSAT, telecom infrastructure, test instrumentation, military and space applications, fiber optics, wideband communication systems, and point-to-point and point-to-multipoint radios. From low noise to driver to power, amplifiers are found in nearly every microwave system. Custom MMIC not only offers a growing library of standard microwave amplifier products, they can also customize their designs to meet the needs of specific systems such as higher gain, lower noise figure, or simply two matched amplifiers in a package.
