Ametek Introduces DMS3k Alarm Management System
ROCHESTER, NY, U.S.A.,--- AMETEK Power Instruments—a recognized leader in alarm management products has introduced an advanced web-based alarm management system that provides annunciator functions and sequence of events recording from the same field input.
The DMS3K is a distributed alarm management system that captures alarms from digital or analog inputs, displays alarms on the built-in web server and provides outputs to remote annunciator displays and other devices using serial and Ethernet communications. Alarms can be time stamped to the millisecond for sequential events recording and email notification can be provided for critical events.
Each DMS3K Logic Rack accepts up to 128 Inputs and multiple racks can be networked together anywhere in the plant to accommodate systems up to 2,048 inputs. A standard web browser is used to configure the system and display alarms to anyone that has access to the plant network. Serial and Ethernet ports are used to transmit the status of the alarms using Modbus and DNP Protocols.
