DisplayLink and IOGEAR Demonstrate Industry-First Wireless USB (WUSB) External Graphics Adapter at CES

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7 /-- 2008 International CES -- IOGEAR and DisplayLink announced today they will showcase IOGEAR's Wireless USB to VGA Video Card (GUW2015V) during the 2008 International CES, Jan. 7-12, 2008 in Las Vegas, NV, in IOGEAR's booth (36526).

The product instantly enables individuals to add multiple high-resolution displays to their notebook or desktop PCs via a WUSB connection. DisplayLink's network display technology is the first to provide the high image quality and performance of VGA / DVI connections over USB and Wireless USB. By using WUSB to communicate wirelessly to monitors, projectors and TVs, IOGEAR's new WUSB Video Adapter helps eliminate cable clutter on the desktop, in meeting rooms and at home. The WUSB to VGA Video Adapter's performance includes instantaneous mouse and keyboard movements, output resolutions up to 1680 x 1050 and 16.7 million colors, as well as smooth DVD video playback.

With this innovative device, users who concurrently work on multiple documents can compare and contrast their files wirelessly on two screens instead of trying to fit two documents on one display. This further increases productivity, enabling effective multitasking. In addition, the solution allows home entertainment buffs to connect their computers to plasma or LCD TV sets without using cables and view their desktop content on a big screen, in high resolution.

"IOGEAR's customers expect quality solutions and innovative ways of further reducing the cable clutter that surrounds them at work and at home," said Miranda Su, VP of sales and marketing at IOGEAR. "We turned to our trusted partner to create a solution that encompasses the best of both worlds, IOGEAR's WUSB product innovation and DisplayLink's unbeatable USB network display technology. The result is our Wireless USB to VGA Video Card, yet another industry-first tool for individual and SOHO users."

"This exciting technology brings freedom to the desktop -- less clutter and more visual workspace," said Dennis Crespo, DisplayLink executive vice president of marketing and business development. "IOGEAR's broad distribution and experience delivering WUSB solutions makes it an excellent partner to work with to bring this first wireless adapter to market."

The DisplayLink technology is comprised of high-performance Hardware Rendering Engine (HRE) network display chips and Virtual Graphics Card (VGC) software that power high-quality, fully interactive 32-bit true-color graphics, with real-time video playback across a USB or WUSB link. It is designed for monitor manufacturers, PC OEMs and PC accessory companies who want to develop easy-to-use, high-performance products such as USB-connected monitors, video-capable USB laptop docking stations, Skype video phones, picture frames and other devices. The company's adaptive compression algorithm and graphics protocol can also transmit graphics over other standard network interfaces, including Wireless USB, Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

The Wireless USB to VGA Video Card, also known as a Wireless USB Graphics Adapter or UGA, will be commercially available in mid-2008.
