Rexroth BB-3 Display Panel for Digital Output Devices Puts Control in the Operator's Hand

Handheld display panel communicates with a variety of digital output devices in mobile applications.

The BB-3 from Bosch Rexroth Corporation's Mobile Hydraulics business unit is designed for real-time parameter adjustment and diagnosis during the development and optimization of prototype and series mobile machines.

Featuring a membrane keyboard with 24 defined keys and four-line liquid crystal display with up to 16 characters per line, the BB-3 handheld display provides automatic recognition of the micro controller, communication via serial interface (RS-232) and automatic recognition of baud rate (19200).

During commissioning the BB-3 supplies a simpler way to make machine adjustments without holding a laptop. BB-3 communication capabilities include setting, measurement and display of micro controller/machine dependent parameters, measurement and display of status and error messages, fault finding and storage of parameter sets in the control panel. Voltage to the unit is supplied via connection to machine voltage.

Common applications of the BB-3 display panel include setting ramp values and PID loops for load control, as well as other application-based parameter adjustments. In addition to the retrieval of actual and stored system error messages, system data can be monitored and recorded with the Windows®-based BODEM program.
