Leadis Technology Expands CSTN Product Line with Production Volume Shipments of the LDS186 65k Color STN Display Driver IC for Mobile Handset Main Displays
SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 12 / -- Leadis Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:LDIS), a leading mixed-signal semiconductor developer of color display driver ICs for small panel displays, today announced production volume shipments of a low-power single chip color STN LCD driver IC with integrated controller. The LDS186 supports 65k colors at a resolution of 128 (RGB) x 160 and incorporates a 327k-bit full frame memory for power-efficient rendering of static images. High image quality is achieved through the use of N-line inversion and mixed Frame Rate Control/Pulse Width Modulation control to achieve low levels of cross talk. Adjustment of internal driving voltages and frame frequency via an on-chip temperature sensor helps in maintaining a high quality image as the display module temperature varies. The LDS186 also includes programmable display features including partial display mode and area scrolling to enable flexible utilization of its qQVGA resolution.
