Original Press Release:

New ArtistaNET(TM) LAN Controller with Ethernet Interface Integrates Networked TFT LCDs without a Client PC

Ronkonkoma, NY, March 2006 - The new ArtistaNET(TM) LAN controller board with Ethernet interface from flat panel display specialist Apollo now makes it possible to integrate a wide range of TFT LCDs over a LAN or WLAN network without the use of a Client PC.

This patented, versatile, easy-to-use controller board reduces overall system costs, provides Ethernet speeds of 10/100 MBit/s, supports LCD resolutions from QVGA (320 x 240) to WXGA (1366 x 768), and supports wireless local area networks up to 802.11 b/g. It supports TFT LCDs from 5" to 46" diagonal in size, comes with an integrated 4-wire resistive touch screen controller, easily integrates in LAN/WLAN networks, and supports a range of graphics formats, including BMP, JPEG, GIF and PNG.

Network configuration of ArtistaNET(TM) is over DHCP (dynamic host configuration protocol), with configuration over the web browser surface. Control is possible over network sockets (independent from the operating system).

"Aside from reducing cost, the ArtistaNET(TM) makes temperature-sensitive applications like hermetically sealed human-machine interfaces and in-wall mounting possible," said Richard McKay, Managing Director of Apollo Display Technologies. McKay cited IP65 applications, electronic door plates and posters, POI/POS displays, HMIs for machine control, and status displays as just a few examples of applications that ArtistaNET(TM) opens the door to.

"ArtistaNET(TM) from Apollo also offers the advantages of long-term availability, product stability, technical support, and compatibility of successor products in form, function and integration," noted McKay.

Pricing for the ArtistaNET(TM) controller board is $144.75 in production quantities (10K units).
Delivery is typically 6-8 weeks for samples and 8-10 weeks for production quantities (10K units).
