Buffalo, NY - Magtrol's Displacement Transducers provide contact-free measurement of absolute piston position, offering a wide range of operational temperatures and admissible pressure resistance for even the most demanding applications. They are designed to withstand vibrations, aggressive chemicals, variations in voltage supply and metallic impurities in working fluids, and contain no moving parts preventing possible wear of components. Their robust construction, insensitivity to shock and long life make them a cost effective, reliable and maintenance-free solution.
Magtrol offers two types of Displacement Transducers, the DI Series and the DC Series. The DI Series is especially adapted to demanding applications requiring linearity, vibration and thermal gradient. The design incorporates built-in temperature measurement, active temperature compensation and a slim measuring system allowing for a large measuring range. Other features include rated accuracy at 0.3%, travel from 50mm to 1m, withstanding pressure up to 450 bars, operating temperature from -40 to 80°C, and a current-based output signal from 4 to 20 mA for displacement. DI Displacement Transducers are commonly utilized in hydraulic cylinders, boat propellers with variable pitch and hydraulic servo motors to regulate the position control of steam inlet valves.
The DC Series is specifically designed for high temperature applications with temperatures ranging from 10 to 250°C. The transducers accommodate pressure up to 300 bars and have rated accuracy at less than 1%. DC Displacement Transducers provide an excellent measurement precision and interchangeability, which can be used in casting machinery for flow regulation, high temperature hydraulic systems and steam regulation. To complete your displacement measurement system, Magtrol also offers Signal Converters and Conditioners that complement the transducers.
