Mettler Toledo Introduces New Flexiweigh Product Family For Compound Management And Logistics
Columbia, MD - METTLER TOLEDO introduces the new FlexiWeigh product family for Compound Management and Logistics applications. FlexiWeigh's capabilities include powder dispensing, solvent dispensing, inerting of target containers, capping/uncapping (compatible with screw caps), labeling, sample tracking (1D or 2D barcode reading), and weighing (with 0.1 mg or 0.01 mg readability).
METTLER TOLEDO's unique patented solid dosing head allows accurate and precise dispensing of a wide range of powders, with no prior information about the powder and no teaching of the system or method development required. This offers the advantages of improving the turn-around time for internal order requests for samples, whilst enhancing safety through the elimination of manual handling of potentially toxic powders.
Powder Dispensing
The patented powder dispensing technology has been successfully used on over 150,000 powders and can handle over 85% of powders in typical compound collections, based on existing METTLER TOLEDO customer experiences. The FlexiWeigh system offers the unique ability to handle difficult powders, such as static powders, and is ideally suited for the 1 mg to 20 mg range, though dispense targets can extend up to 200 mg. The individual dispensing heads eliminate potential cross-contamination between samples.
WISC Module
A key optional element of the new FlexiWeigh platform is the unique WISC module (Weighing, Inerting, Solvent dispensing, Capping). This compact module has the ability to combine multiple operations at a single vial position, offering increased throughput - by reducing the time needed to process each individual sample - and increased confidence in the solutions prepared - by providing a certified concentration through validation of the solvent dispense by weighing. The WISC module also enhances the efficiency of the process, by eliminating unnecessary robot movement.
