Disintegrators Pulverize Paper, CDs, Other Materials for Quick, Quiet Destruction of Confidential Information

WESTBORO, MA - Security Engineered Machinery has redesigned its low-volume disintegrators for the thorough destruction of sensitive and outdated records. Ideal for office use, the powerful Model 200 and Model DS-200 both destroy paper and many other materials, including CDs and DVDs, key tape (in strips or rolls), floppy disks, audio cassettes, ID badges, credit cards, etc. Model DS-200 is a dual-stage unit with a built-in conventional shredder that can accept 14 sheets of paper at a time with no need to remove staples or paperclips. Pre-shredding reduces cycle time, saves energy, and extends the life of the on-board disintegrator.

At the heart of each model is a rotary knife mill in which blades are mounted on a solid steel rotor and a stationary bed. As the rotor spins, waste is continually cut until the pieces fall through a steel sizing screen. Both models have been evaluated by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA), and with the standard 3/32" screen the resulting particles are small enough to meet the requirements of NSA/CSS Specification 02-02 for the destruction of paper and NSA/CSS Specification 04-02 for the destruction of optical media. With an optional 5/64" screen, the particles are small enough to meet NSA/CSS Specification 04-01 for the destruction of key tape.

Other features of the Model 200 and Model DS-200 disintegrators include a 2" x 9" feed opening, a new waste-evacuation/dust-collection system, and a new cabinet for quieter operation (80-85 dBA). Neither model requires lubrication. Overall dimensions are the same for both models: 59" x 51" x 25". Both come with 100 35-gallon waste collection bags.
