Hoffman Develops First Standard Enclosure Series for Lean Manufacturing

Anoka, MN-December 5, 2002-To meet the growing move to Lean manufacturing, Hoffman announces the A26 Low Profile Disconnect Enclosure series. The A26 is the only off-the-shelf enclosure line that supports the maximum 60" height requirement of the Lean manufacturing doctrine. These enclosures are sized to provide a clear line of sight across the factory floor. The A26 series is a direct response to manufacturers' need for smaller, shorter enclosures for distributed control components and condensed main control and power distribution panels.

The A26 enclosures are available as standard products in a broad range of free-standing, wall- or machine-mount sizes. Thirty-eight models and ten subpanels range in size from 30" x 28" x 8" with one door, to 60" x 196" x 16" with five doors. The UL/NEMA Type 12 flange-mounted disconnect units are designed with a flange trough collar that channels liquids away from the door opening and keeps enclosed components safe from fluid contaminants.

Wall-mount and free-standing models make selection easy and maintain a uniform appearance among systems. A floor-stand option is available for shorter wall-mount enclosures to assure system design flexibility. Each enclosure includes an operator handle and preferred disconnect cutout. Two through five door enclosures have a removable center post to streamline panel installation and use. Drawings are available on the Hoffman web site at www.hoffmanonline.com.
