Neverfail® Unveils Neverfail 6.0

Product Marries Local High Availability and Remote Disaster Recovery with Neverfail Tertiary(TM); New Module WANSmart(TM) Significantly Reduces Costs by Ensuring Maximum WAN Performance While Minimizing Bandwidth Requirements

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 31 /-- Neverfail , a leading global software company specializing in affordable continuous availability and disaster recovery solutions, today unveiled at VMworld 2009 (booth #1219) Neverfail 6.0. Integrating local high availability and remote disaster recovery, Neverfail 6.0 protects mission-critical applications across any combination of physical, virtual and cloud-based servers. It is the only solution that keeps users working even when multiple software applications go down. Additionally, Neverfail 6.0 adds new modules that integrate tertiary deployment and support maximum performance across wide area networks (WANs).

Neverfail 6.0 includes the following components and modules:

-- Neverfail Tertiary(TM) - With Neverfail Tertiary, Neverfail 6.0 is the only solution that deploys fully automated, three-tier failover support into a single business continuity platform. Neverfail Tertiary enables a trio of servers to be configured to ensure that localized failures, such as application issues, as well as site-wide issues, such as floods, hurricanes or power outages, will not bring the business down. Should either the secondary or tertiary server be called into use, Neverfail automatically manages the operation transparently across the three servers, ensuring all failure scenarios are guarded against and continuous user access is maintained. Additionally, Neverfail Tertiary manages synchronization between the sites, enabling seamless switchback when the primary systems are restored.

-- Neverfail WANSmart(TM) - Neverfail WANSmart ensures maximum performance over the WAN while minimizing the bandwidth requirements and impact on other WAN users. Using state-of-the-art data de-duplication techniques that eliminate the need to implement hardware-based WAN acceleration devices, WANSmart dramatically reduces the amount of data that is physically replicated across the network. As much as 30 times reduction in bandwidth can be achieved, avoiding costly network upgrades and leaving more capacity for other users.

-- Unified Availability Management Console - The updated Neverfail 6.0 management console provides an intuitive interface that enables real time control of local and remote application availability deployments. As well as managing WANSmart and Tertiary options together with pre-configured policies and rules, the console enables point-and-click configuration of extended rules to protect packaged and bespoke applications. Having a single intuitive interface to manage failover, switchback, multi-tier and WAN deployment options reduces integration, administration and management costs.

"Neverfail 6.0 is a value-oriented solution that provides organizations with the business continuity solution they need to prevent multiple software applications from going down and causing serious business disruption," said Mark Bowker, analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG). "Neverfail's ability to work across physical and virtual infrastructures provides much needed choice for application continuity and goes beyond existing virtual platform approaches."

While many business continuity solutions force companies to choose between local high availability and remote disaster recovery options, Neverfail 6.0 offers a seamless solution to ensure applications are protected against a multitude of IT downtime scenarios. Neverfail 6.0 solves the typical problems associated with local- or remote-only high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including susceptibility to site failures and power interruptions. By eliminating extended recovery times through automation, Neverfail ensures business continues even when IT failures threaten the operation.

"Today's businesses are increasingly using a combination of physical, virtual and cloud-based systems and require a HA/DR solution that protects against all IT failures, no matter where they occur," said Andrew Barnes, senior vice president of corporate development for Neverfail. "Neverfail 6.0, with its new modules for tertiary support and WAN performance, offer these companies the most flexible and cost-effective business continuity solution available."

Neverfail 6.0 is being demonstrated at VMworld 2009 (booth #1219) in San Francisco, Calif., and is available immediately.
