Dirty Condenser Coils Impact Cooling Costs - Interior Maintenance Company Helps Companies Save Energy Costs with HVAC & Coil Cleaning Services

Interior Maintenance Company (IMC) of Lansdowne Pa provides cleaning services throughout the Mid-Atlantic region for HVAC systems including ductwork, coils, and exhaust systems.

A Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) study has shown that a dirty condenser coil can increase compressor energy consumption by 30 percent. A dirty condenser coil that raises condensing temperature from 95°F to 105°F cuts cooling capacity by 7 percent and increases power consumption by 10 percent, with a net (compressor) efficiency reduction of 16 percent. In a 10-ton unit operating 2,000 hours a year, this wastes about $250 per year in operating costs.

Cleaning dirty and clogged components of ductwork can greatly increase the air flow of an HVAC system. When air flow is increased, the conditioned space is cooled (or heated) more quickly, and results in less energy being expended to cool (or heat) that space. IMC offers maintenance programs that visually inspect HVAC systems and include annual cleaning of the evaporator and condenser coils. IMC customers have consistently found short term payback in energy savings by keeping their systems clean.

IMC began its HVAC Cleaning Division in 1990 and has since become one of the largest air duct cleaning contractors on the East Coast. IMC has extensive experience in providing complete air conveyance system cleaning at commercial and industrial facilities including office buildings, hospitals, schools, government institutions, prisons, manufacturing and production sites, and other public and private facilities throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region.

In addition to air duct cleaning, IMC provides kitchen exhaust cleaning, high surface cleaning, surface sanitizing and building performance monitoring.
