Diode Laser Spectrometer Measures Directly in Hot Flue Gases

Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) has added the new LDS 6 diode laser spectrometer to its range of products for process analysis. The new analyzer is used for continuous in-situ measurement of gas concentrations and has a reaction time in the
seconds range. The LDS 6 has a compact and service-friendly design, is easy to use, and provides reliable results even under unfavorable conditions.

The LDS 6 is equipped with rugged fiber-optic sensors and is therefore also suitable for harsh process environments, for example directly in hot flue gases with changing gas compositions, high process temperatures and varying concentrations of particles such as dust in the gas. The analyzer has a maintenance-free reference cell for self-calibration, and requires no calibration gases on site. An integral communications interface can be used for remote scanning of measured values to set the spectrometer parameters and to carry out diagnostics.
