Original Press Release:

KOA Speer Electronics PDG Diode ESD Suppressor Provides Ultra-Low Parasitic Capacitance

Bradford, PA - December 10, 2004 - KOA Speer Electronics has expanded its circuit protection line with the introduction of a miniature bi-directional ESD Suppressor. The new series PGD diode is available in a IE (0402) size and is designed for suppressing ESD voltage events in high-speed digital circuitry. The PGD device has a low capacitance characteristic, ultra-fast response time and a stable breakdown characteristic, thereby offering significant advantages compared to metal oxide varistors.

The new PGD1E-0402 ESD Suppressor is bi-directional, offers a diode breakdown voltage 7.0V typical, a -55°C to +125°C temperature range, operating voltage of 5.0 volts and is 100% lead free. The PGD is packaged on 7" embossed plastic with 5,000 pcs/reel.

PDG diode suppressors are designed for use in a number of high speed digital circuitry applications including cellular handsets and accessories, portable products, audio and visual equipment, protection for I/O ports, networking systems, high-speed data lines and computer components.
