Dimming Control System helps facilities conserve energy.

Press Release Summary:

Using analog input from photocells or manual input from handheld programmer/PC, Dimming Control System can be used to reduce lighting load when lights are not needed. Algorithms appropriately dim lighting during daylight hours to optimize use of natural light and reduce energy usage. System features photocell inputs and controller capacity for up to 8 daylight optimization modules (8 I/O per optimization module), and each output can drive up to 50, 0-10 Vdc dimmable ballasts.

New Dimming Panel Sets Standard for Daylight Harvesting

HENDERSONVILLE, NC - Facility managers now have a powerful new tool for controlling lighting costs: the Dimming Control System from the Total Lighting Control business of GE Lighting Systems, Inc.

The Dimming Control System is a new stand-alone dimming system for 0-10vdc dimming ballasts. Using either analog input from photocells or manual input from a handheld programmer or PC, the Dimming Control System can be used to reduce a facility's lighting load when lights are not needed, helping to conserve energy.

"We've raised the bar with a total solution for lighting control," says Joseph Briscoe, product manager, GE Lighting Systems, Inc. "The Dimming Control Panel uses sophisticated control algorithms to appropriately dim lighting during optimal daylight hours, make the most of natural light and reduce energy usage."

End-users gain a new level of flexibility for controlling lighting systems with the Dimming Control System. It will automatically respond to photocell inputs or users can program dimming levels to a specific output level. Override and output levels can be set using either a handheld programmer or the system software.

The Dimming Control System features photocell inputs and controller capacity for up to eight daylight optimization modules (eight inputs/outputs per optimization module). Each output can drive up to fifty 0-10vdc dimmable ballasts. For larger applications, additional controllers can be networked via RS-485 or an optional Ethernet connection.
