Digital Servo Drives offer high resolution feedback.

Press Release Summary:

SimplIQ series, comprised of Harmonica, Cello, and Bassoon models, employs SIN/COS feedback with freely adjustable internal interpolation that multiplies analog encoder signals by 4x-4,096x. With 250 KHz bandwidth, series includes encoder output configurable in buffered and differential form. Features include position resolution scaling, DSP core, and RS-232C and CANopen communications protocols. Output power levels range from 240-1,190 W to 250-3,550 W.

High Resolution Feedback in SimplIQ Drives

Westford, Massachusetts - Elmo Motion Control's has incorporated a major enhancement in the (SimplIQ) drives family. Comprised of the Harmonica, Cello and Bassoon digital servo drives, the new SIN/COS feedback with internal interpolation achieves high resolution. This freely adjustable interpolation function multiplies the analog encoder signals by 4x to 4096x. The position resolution scaling feature is very important for direct drive linear motors and other high performance servo applications.

The encoder output can be configured in buffered and differential form. The high 250 KHz bandwidth offers full servo control simultaneously at high resolution and high speed operation. The Harmonica and Bassoon servo drives provide various models that develop output power levels from 240 to 1190 watts. The larger Cello drives achieve output power levels ranging from 250 to 3550 watts.

The SimplIQ servo drive family uses Elmo's advanced DSP core and proprietary Composer software suite to achieve a wide range of features, functionality and efficiency. The SimplIQ digital servo drive family utilizes both RS-232C and the vast CANopen communications protocol in today's industrial environment.
