FUJIFILM Unveils the Future of Digital Radiography Detectors at RSNA 2014

STAMFORD, Conn. – (Booth # 2511, South Building) - FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. will introduce its latest and most innovative digital radiography detectors, FDR D-EVO II at the 100(th) annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) in Chicago, Ill. Available in 24x30cm* Csl, 14"x17" and 17"x17", Fujifilm will begin shipping the new detectors in the United States in early 2015. FDR D-EVO II is already available in Japan.

"The new FDR-DEVO II detectors are completely redesigned with a great new look. The detectors are uniquely enhanced to resist moisture and germs, are lightweight, more durable with improved battery life than previous models, and provide excellent dose efficiency particularly in the low dose range," said Rob Fabrizio, director of marketing and product development, Digital x-ray and Women's Health, FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. "Fujifilm is proud to once again lead the way to the next generation in digital radiography, bringing true solutions to things that matter most, such as low patient dose, ease and accuracy of use and outstanding images."

The new detectors are 20% lighter than previous models and feature a revolutionary sleek magnesium alloy enclosure for improved durability. The shape of the detectors incorporates tapered edges to simplify positioning under the patient and an IPX-6 water resistant rating. The sealed smooth surface and the battery compartment have been designed to lock out moisture. The entire detector is layered with antibacterial nano-coating to reduce colonization or bacterial growth on the device. The detector also features internal memory that stores up to 100 images with or without a live connection to the workstation. This feature allows faster image acquisition for trauma use and uninterrupted exam completion if wireless signal is hindered.

Additional enhancements include:

--  Improved circuitry design increases DQE performance 20% with a 0.03 mR dose compared to prior models

--  LED status indicators and digital readout for connectivity, battery, impact sensing, memory storage and more

--  Intelligent Sleep and Deep Sleep modes extend battery life, doubling standby time

--  Redesigned docking stand and two-slot chargers speed charging and display remote ready light

*24x30cm is a work-in progress and is not commercially available in the U.S.A.
