Aellora(TM) Digital Introduces the SureFire(TM) Starter Digital Printing System

Highly Dependable DOD Ink Jet Print Engines for UV-Curable White and Other Color Inks

Keene, N.H. (March 23, 2006) - Aellora(TM) Digital, a MARKEM company providing digital chemistries, drop-on-demand ink jet systems and services for commercial, graphic and other digital printing, imaging and dispensing applications, has introduced its new SureFire(TM) Starter Digital Printing System for piezo drop-on-demand (DOD) ink jet printing.

The SureFire Starter System is a fully integrated industrial ink jet print engine for jetting solventless, hybrid UV-curable white or color inks, including process and spot colors. This user-friendly system offers either 300 dpi or 600 dpi single pass printing, providing a low cost, quick turnaround, high-print quality solution with personalization capabilities. It consists of the highly reliable SureFire Digital Print Engine integrated with a manually movable slide table and all the components necessary to perform the printing operation. These include the graphic user interface and Designer(TM) image creation software and the print module control box. Ideal for printing smaller objects, such as electronic components or other small plastic products, the SureFire Starter System is a great way for users to gain experience with digital printing.

The SureFire Digital Print Engine was developed for use with Aellora's hybrid UV-curable inks. These inks exhibit high viscosity characteristics at room temperature, but liquefy at elevated temperatures so when the ink drops hit the room temperature substrate; they immediately "freeze" in position and do not require pinning to maintain drop integrity. Since the drop size stays true, high resolution images, texts, and barcodes, compared to traditional ink jet inks, are possible on the widest variety of substrates, including many papers, plastics, untreated glass, metals, and ceramics. Hybrid inks provide high opacity with a single layer of ink and require only one exposure to UV-energy to cure all ink layers, reducing costs and increasing throughput, helping to make this an economical and efficient printing solution.

Aellora Digital, through its MARKEM heritage in industrial printing solutions, has served the digital printing industry since the early 1980's. In addition to its established product offerings, the company also offers development and system certification services.
