Original Press Release:

Versatile New Panel Meter Provides Optional 4-20mA and Relay Trip Outputs or a Modbus-RTU Interface

New APM765 Series digital panel meters are available in a variety of configurations from an economical LED data display to models with advanced transmitter, alarm, pump control, and networking capabilities.

Wixom, MI: Acromag's new APM765 Panel Meter displays data collected from process current, DC voltage and temperature inputs. Several output options convert the display into a transmitter with proportional 4-20mA output or a serial communication interface to Modbus-RTU networks. A relay output option adds limit alarm and pump alternation control capabilities. Other options include single or dual transmitter excitation supplies and software for remote viewing and data logging. The sunlight-readable display also features an adjustable intensity for clear viewing in all conditions. All models offer NEMA4X protection in an IP65 form factor with a shallow 3.6-inch depth package for easy installation. Two power options accommodate nearly any supply with support for 12-36V and 90-265V DC or 12-24V and 85-265V AC ranges. Prices start at just $199 for the standard model.

The APM765 is very easy to set up and program using the simple four-button configuration interface. There is only one switch on the entire meter - no jumpers - and never any need to open the case. The meter is also programmable using a PC and the MeterView software. A copy function quickly clones setups from other units. Process inputs can be scaled with or without applying an input for virtually any engineering units. Temperature inputs can be programmed to display in degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius.

The MeterView Software provides a convenient way to collect data generated by the APM765's serial output. Users can select the logging time interval and the engineering units for display on the computer screen. Data is written to a file that can be imported into spreadsheets or other applications.

Typical applications involve process and temperature monitoring, high and low failsafe alarms with latching or non-latching relays, pump alternation control, and display of minimum and maximum readings.

Many other features ensure dependable operation. The APM765 panel meter is rated for use in 0 to 65°C temperatures, CE marked, and carries a UL/cUL listing. Sensor break detection provides fast notification of wiring faults. Additionally, functions such as failsafe relay operation, nonvolatile memory, and auto-initialization maintain safe conditions if power is lost.
