Digital Multimeters include non-contact voltage indicator.

Press Release Summary:

Series 350 testers offer built-in voltage indicator that issues audible and visual signals in presence of live 80-600 Vac circuit. Testers have UL safety rating to CAT III-600V. Model 61-354 with True RMS tests ac/dc current from 2.000-0.000 A, measures 750 Vac/1000 Vdc voltage, 20 Mohm resistance, and offers continuity certification. Model 61-352 performs same tests without True RMS feature, while entry-level 61-350 carries out general-purpose voltage, resistance, and continuity functions.

IDEAL Adds Non-Contact Voltage Detector to New 350 Series of Digital Multimeters

SYCAMORE, IL, February 27, 2006 Responding to electricians' need for an affordably-priced, easy-to-use handheld digital multimeter that delivers professional-grade performance, IDEAL today debuted its 350 Series, a new line of three feature-packed testers that accurately measure voltage, resistance and continuity, plus offer the added benefit of a built-in non-contact voltage indicator that detects and alerts the electrician of the presence of a live circuit (80-600VAC) with audible and visual warnings. All testers have a UL safety rating for residential, commercial and light industrial applications to CAT III-600V.

"On the jobsite, electricians tell us that lower-cost digital multimeters are no bargain if they don't have the right features for the job, and don't stand the test of time," said Michael Swaim, Product Manager for IDEAL. "We left no rock unturned in designing our new 350 Series digital multimeters to ensure accurate, reliable and safe testing at the right price."

The three-unit line boasts IDEAL's signature versatility. The flagship
61-354 ($82.95) with True RMS tests AC/DC current from 2.000A to 0.00A,
frequency and capacitance, in addition to MAX/MIN, continuity cerification, and measuring 750V AC/ 1000V DC voltage and 20 MegOhm resistance. The mid-range 61-352 ($61.95) performs the same tests without the True RMS feature, while the entry-level 61-350 ($40.95) carries out the general-purpose voltage, resistance and continuity functions.

Common features of the three testers are: auto/manual ranging with electronic overload protection on all ranges, low battery indication, auto power off, data hold and diode testing. A built-in rear stand permits each tester to stand upright.

TOUGH, SMART ENGINEERING
An IDEAL 350 digital multimeter should be tucked inside the tool kit of
every professional electrician. It makes tough jobs easier, especially in hard to reach places where its high-contrast 3-1/2 digit LCD display can be clearly read from several feet away. Form, fit and function match the workplace to a tee thanks to an ergonomic design and overmolded, impact-resistant rubber boot. All testers are backed by the IDEAL Lifetime Limited Warranty.
