Z-World Announces First Product in New RabbitNet Expansion Line-up: RN1100 Digital I/O Card



Davis, Calif., June 27, 2003 - Z·World today announced the release of the RN1100 RabbitNet Digital I/O card, the first in a series of RabbitNet expansion products designed for use with the latest Z-World single-board computers (BL2500) and operator interfaces (OP7200).

RabbitNet is an I/O expansion mechanism based on three-wire, full duplex technology, and utilizing low cost, off-the-shelf Ethernet cables. Data is transmitted at 1 Mbit/second to a maximum recommended distance of 10M (33 ft.). When used with a compatible Z·World single-board computer or operator interface acting as a master, RabbitNet can be used to expand the amount of available I/O, or increase the distance from the master device to the I/O points. Easily mounted on a 100mm DIN rail tray (3.95" × 3.55 " × 0.67" / 100 × 90 × 17 mm), the RN1100 features a ruggedized I/O set consisting of 24 inputs and 16 sink/source outputs. Four 10-bit buffered analog input channels are also included.
