ME8200 High Power Digital I/O Boards Announced by ICSDataCom
PLEASANTON, CA, October 18, 2007. Today ICSDataCom announced a new High Power Digital I/O Card for assembling PCI and compact PCI Test Systems. These ME8200 series cards provide 16 optically isolated high-power outputs and 16 optically isolated high-voltage inputs that expand the capabilities of any PC based test system. The ME8200's voltage and current capabilities exceed those of the normal digital I/O card and are capable of driving large loads as well as lower level TTL type signals. Typical applications for the ME8200 are interfacing digital devices, operating relays or solenoids or testing digital devices.
The ME8200 series cards provides 16 isolated outputs, 16 isolated inputs and 16 general purpose TTL lines. The isolated outputs can drive 3 to 45 volt loads and source up to 700 mA per channel. Short circuit protection is included along with the ability to interrupt the PC if a short circuit or overload condition is detected. The 16 isolated inputs accept inputs from 3.3 to 45 volts and incorporate transient protection. The inputs are connected to a bit-pattern circuit that offers pattern match and change detection capabilities. The card can generate an interrupt when either event occurs. The inputs and outputs have 500 volts of isolation from the PC ground. The 16 general purpose TTL lines are two bi-directional 8-bit ports and can be independently used as latched outputs or as gated inputs.
The ME8200 includes extensive software support for Visual C/C++, VEE Pro, LabVIEW (both for Windows and Linux), Python and Java. In addition Meilhaus offers their own intelligent Driver System (ME-iDS) that supports Windows 2K and XP systems plus Linux systems with kernel version 2.6. ME-iDS contains an universal function library (API) for all common programming languages and simplifies the user's programming.
