Siemens Releases New Digital Elevator Starter



ALPHARETTA, Ga., (March 3, 2003) - Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc., today introduced the fifth generation of its digital elevator starter designed for use in hydraulic applications.

New to the elevator starter is an optional interface and software for configuration and diagnostics via PC. There is also an optional infrared module and PDA software kit for communication with a handheld device such as a PDA.

Having developed the first reduced voltage starter for elevator applications in 1991, Siemens offers the all fifth generation elevator starters with the following standard features:

o All digital control using a DSP processor

o Inside the Delta Electronic Motor Overload Projection
o Patented auto select for 6/12 lead wye delta or 3 lead motors
