High Performance Digital Servo Drives Feature 100 Microsecond Velocity Loop Update Rate



Camarillo, California. Advanced Motion Controls announces the availability of velocity mode for its DR100 Series digital drive family. The addition of this operating mode allows users to solve both simple and difficult velocity control applications more easily, since the velocity loop is closed inside the drive. The velocity loop is implemented as a fully de-coupled PID algorithm, with the addition of a feed-forward gain and runs at an impressive 100-microsecond update rate. All gains can be adjusted and system response can be monitored using complimentary setup and configuration software. A configurable low-pass filter smoothes the velocity feedback, which can be derived from encoder or resolver signals. Events such as zero-speed and at-velocity are fully programmable and can be mapped to one of the 4 programmable digital outputs. These drives can be used with rotary or linear, brush type or brushless motors. Various models are available with supply range of 80VDC to 460VAC, and maximum current output capability in the range of 15A to 100A. Unit shown is 30A peak, 15A continuous, accepts up to 270 VAC and incorporates an AC supply, which also incorporate a shunt regulator circuit with configurable turn on voltage.
