New Photo Temp MX6 simultaneously takes temperature measurements and documents them with digital photographs for complete and accurate reporting

Santa Cruz, Calif.-August 1, 2002-Raytek® Corporation, the worldwide leader in infrared thermometry, today introduced the PhotoTemp(TM) MX6 -- the world's first integrated infrared thermometer and digital camera. PhotoTemp lets you take noncontact temperature measurements while documenting them with digital photographs. Designed for plant maintenance professionals to photograph, share, and store critical measurement results, PhotoTemp provides fast, easy, and accurate documentation, verification, and troubleshooting.

The PhotoTemp MX6 accurately shows the temperature measurement area with its True Spot(TM) coaxial laser sighting system and highlights it in a picture in the context of nearby objects. Temperature, location, and date/time data are superimposed on the PhotoTemp images when viewed on a computer or in reports. Up to 100 temperature measurements and photographs along an inspection route can be taken and stored in the PhotoTemp MX6 and later downloaded into a PC for analysis and reporting using Datatemp® MX software included with the unit.

Maintenance professionals can insure consistent, repeatable measurements over time and efficiently and accurately communicate with co-workers, management, equipment manufacturers, and service providers by incorporating real-time photos in emails and reports. In addition, service providers can create permanent inspection records indicating temperature behavior before and after repairs.

The PhotoTemp MX6 leverages the many features of earlier MX series products, including the 16-point True Spot coaxial laser, the most accurate sighting system found in an infrared thermometer. In addition, it features a backlit display with 30 pre-set emissivity values, a built-in flash for low-light conditions, a focus setting to get the best results in long-distance or close-focus situations, and stores up to 100 photographs for downloading.

The manufacturer's suggested list price for the PhotoTemp MX6 is US$1,495. A hardshell carrying case, two AA batteries, thermocouple probe, USB interface cable, DataTemp MX software, and a user's guide on CD are included.
