DuncanTech Introduces High Resolution Digital Camera

Auburn, CA - January 9, 2002 - DuncanTech, Inc. of Auburn, CA announced today the release it's new DT4000 high-resolution digital camera. The DT4000 acquires images with a resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels at a frame rate of 10 frames per second. The camera is available in both color and monochrome configurations. The large format 1-inch CCD sensor with 7.4 micron pixels, provides excellent sensitivity. Color models implement DuncanTech's real-time Accucolor technology to deliver full 24 or 30 bit color image data directly from the camera. The Kodak KAI Series sensor is based on a new fabrication process that provides enhanced quantum efficiency and outstanding blue sensitivity. The DT4000 is available with a CameraLink data interface or parallel LVDS output.

The DT4000 is based on DuncanTech's well-known advanced imaging engine to deliver optimal image quality and maximum flexibility. Auto-exposure and white-balance functions make camera setup and operation easy. Full user control of gain, integration, and color balance enable adjustment for any operating environment. A variety of trigger modes support synchronization of image acquisition with external events. The unique digital cross-hair display supports accurate camera targeting. Image acquisition and processing is performed at 10-bit pixel depth. Image data output format can be set for 8-bit or 10-bit pixel depth under software control. DuncanTech's DTC control software provides a simple user-interface for full control of all camera features. The RS-232 command protocol is also fully documented to enable custom applications.

The DT4000 supports DuncanTech's unique Direct View option to enable simultaneous output of an analog video signal in parallel with the digital image data. Users can select either high-resolution progressive scan formats at resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 or standard NTSC video formats under software control. A multisync monitor can be plugged directly into the camera to display a crisp real-time preview of the image independent of the digital acquisition.

The DT4000 can be configured to support Nikon bayonet or C-mount optics, maximizing it's adaptability. The lens mount also accommodates in-line optical filters to enable special spectral configurations.

This exciting new product delivers a new standard of performance for advanced digital imaging. It is ideal for a number of applications including scientific imaging, metrology, inspection and graphics imaging. The $6,000 price tag delivers maximum value to users.
