Leica Microsystems Inc. Introduces The New Leica DC 500 Color Digital Camera

The Leica DC 500 Color Digital Camera was created for the user who feels great is not good enough. The DC 500 can acquire ultra-resolution images in excess of 12 Megapixels at a stunning 12 bits per color. When it is absolutely necessary to see the smallest details in the sharpest image quality, the DC 500 will make any report or presentation sparkle.

The DC 500's integrated Peltier cooling system and heat dissipating metallic casing allow users to acquire stunning images with enhanced dynamic range and reduced signal-to-noise. Users will greatly benefit from the cameras long 6 minute exposure time, which allows the most challenging low light applications to be captured with stunning image quality.

In order to handle the vast information capturing capabilities of the DC 500, the use of IEEE 1394 Firewire technology has been incorporated. The DC 500's specially designed camera drivers allow images to be transferred to a computer at speeds in excess of 400 Megabits per second. Images can be saved in multiple graphical formats to allow easy integration with all imaging software systems. Included with the DC 500 is Leica's IM 50 image
management software, which allows users to archive and preview their images in a highly organized image gallery system.

If you want the ultimate in image resolution, color and sharpness, look no further, the DC 500 is now available.
