New Mitutoyo SuperSolar Caliper Combines Technologies to Set New Performance Standards
(Aurora, IL) Combining the most advanced technologies, the new IP67-rated coolant proof SuperSolar digital caliper from Mitutoyo America Corporation sets new industry standards for ease of use, convenience and shop hardness.
Powered by a solar battery charging a super capacitor, the new Mitutoyo SuperSolar caliper is capable of operation under low light conditions - requiring only 60 Lux (min.) to charge - and has the ability to run on capacitor power when experiencing even lower light conditions.
Solar power means the SuperSolar caliper is never out of service due to worn batteries. Additionally, solar power eliminates the cost of replacement batteries while doing away with the hassle of disposing spent batteries.
The SuperSolar caliper Ingress Protection (IP) rating of 67 means its housing is sealed dust-tight and has also passed a temporary water immersion test proving harmful effects shall not be possible when the enclosure is temporarily immersed in water under standardized conditions of pressure and time. IP67 certification means the new digital caliper is dust proof, chip proof, coolant-proof and virtually immune to the toughest conditions found on the production floor. You can use it anywhere in the shop - even submersed in coolant - and still get the accuracy expected from Mitutoyo (0.01mm resolution with ±0.02mm accuracy.
The SuperSolar caliper features an Absolute linear encoded measuring scale eliminating the origin-set process, while a large LCD readout helps make it easy to take readings under all shop lighting conditions.
Optional accessories for digital SPC-enabled models include an IP67 rated connector and cable; a Digimatic(TM) gage/PC input device (USB, keyboard, and RS-232C types available); and a Digimatic(TM) Mini-processor for generating on-the-spot results.
