Inexpensive Surface Mount DRO12600A in Ku Band Features Extremely Low Phase Noise
Z-Communications, Inc. announces a new dielectric resonator VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) model DRO12600A for the test and measurement market. The DRO12600A is designed to cover 12600 MHz with a tuning voltage range of 0 to 12 Vdc. This unmatched VCO has been optimized to feature extremely low phase noise of -102 dBc/Hz @ 10 kHz offset while operating off a 5Vdc supply and typically drawing only 23mA of current.
The low noise DRO12600A is designed to deliver a typical output power of 0±3 dBm into a 50 ohm load while operating over the industrial temperature range of -40 to 85°C. This high performance VCO suppresses the second harmonic to better than -20 dBc and has a typical tuning sensitivity of only 0.5 MHz/V. The low cost DRO8000A also comes incorporated with a mechanical tuning screw allowing for finer frequency control. This remarkable VCO comes in Z-COMM's standard surface mount SDRO package measuring 0.91 in. x 0.91 in. x 0.51 in.
