Diamond ATR Probe suits mid-IR chemical process analysis.

Press Release Summary:

Featuring 23 mm diameter, DMD-373 Attenuated Total Reflectance Probe is suitable for both laboratory and on-line process analytical applications. Mid-IR transmission of probe exceeds 10%, providing optimum performance when used with FTIR spectrometers employing room temperature IR detectors. With diamond ATR element, Hastelloy C-276 construction, and energized PTFE seals, probe can function over wide range of temperatures and pressures and with aggressive chemical systems.

Axiom Analytical Announces a New Diamond ATR (attenuated total reflectance) Probe for Mid-infrared Chemical Process Analysis

Tustin, Calif., – Axiom Analytical, Inc., a leading supplier of sampling equipment, software, and integrated systems for all forms of vibrational spectroscopy, today announced the availability of its new DMD-373 diamond ATR probe. The new probe offers similar advantages to the Company’s DMD-370 process ATR probe but in a smaller (23 mm) diameter, making it suitable for a wide range of both laboratory and on-line process analytical applications. The mid-IR transmission of the new probe exceeds 10%, providing high performance when used with FTIR spectrometers employing room temperature IR detectors, an important consideration for on-line process applications.

In common with the DMD-370, the new probe features a diamond ATR element, Hastelloy C-276 construction, and energized PTFE seals, allowing it to function over wide ranges of temperatures and pressures and with highly aggressive chemical systems, including strong acids and bases. The use of metallic internal lightguides provides a high degree of performance stability and long term reliability.

About Axiom Analytical, Inc.

Axiom Analytical, Inc. was founded in 1988 by Dr. Mike Doyle and Norm Jennings, pioneers in the field of process FTIR spectroscopy. The Company’s mission is to develop and market the robust sampling equipment, software, and integrated systems required to fully realize the potential of vibrational spectroscopy for solving economically significant problems both in laboratory analysis and manufacturing processes. The Company’s products are employed in diverse industries ranging from basic chemicals to pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and polymer processing. In short, the Company’s products are found wherever process analytical technology (PAT) is being applied. Its hardware products include ATR probes, transmission probes, diffuse reflectance probes, Raman probes, flow cells for gas and liquid analysis, and fiber-optic multiplexers. These cover the full range of molecular analysis including mid-IR, near-IR, UV-visible, and Raman spectroscopy.

Axiom’s hardware products are complemented by the software products of its sister company, Symbion Systems, Inc. These include analytical instrument data acquisition, analysis, control, and deployment as well as chemometrics and hardware implementation for the same markets as served by Axiom. Axiom’s CEO, Dr. Mike Doyle, was awarded the Williams Wright award for 2014, recognizing his many contributions to the field of industrial molecular spectroscopy.
