HCL Launches New Version of DFMPro® for PTC Creo Parametric™ with Path Breaking Features and Enhancements

HCL Technologies (HCL), a leading global IT services company, today announced the release of a new version 5.0 of its automated design for manufacturability solution, DFMPro® for PTC Creo Parametric™ software. The new version supports the latest Creo Parametric version 4.0 and offers a path-breaking functionality for “Real Time Analysis” providing quick and instant feedback to design engineers with live recommendations from DFMPro as features are created or modified.

Real Time DFMPro will provide real time feedback to designers, translating into quicker collaboration, which in turn results in rework savings and improved productivity. It will also support complete model analysis via the standard DFMPro workflow.

“Early consideration of manufacturability (DFM/DFA) challenges during the design stage shortens product development time, minimizes development cost, and ensures a smooth transition into production for quick time to market. DFMPro, powered by HCL’s DFX solution framework provides a scalable knowledge environment, which helps organizations achieve excellence in design processes and improve productivity by eliminating rework. The latest version offers exciting functionalities that make life easier for designers and reviewers. This is ably done by complementing and leveraging the powerful design functionalities of PTC Creo Parametric. The benefits that can be achieved are manifold whose effects reverberate across the product lifecycle,” said Swadhin Bhide, Head of GeometricTech Business Unit at HCL.

DFMPro’s latest version 5.0, gives additional power to designers who are interested in traditional processes such as Die Casting, Sheet Metal and Injection Molding. Packaging new rules along with enhancements to some of the existing ones are sure to give more power to designers for DFM validation. New die casting rules added for ribs and boss features will help in reducing manufacturing defects and increasing strength, surface finish, and overall life of parts.
