Development Software generates source code in 4 languages.

Press Release Summary:

ASN1C ASN.1 v6 compiler and run-time libraries software targets developers of products based on Abstract Notation One (ASN.1) and XML standards, generating source code in C, C++, Java, or C#. Code can be generated directly from XML schema as well as ASN.1 specifications, and software includes cross-platform GUI wizard for code generation process. Code can be used in conjunction with run-time libraries to produce interoperable encoders and decoders.

Objective Systems Announces a Major New Release of ASN1C

EXTON, Pa., Jan. 23 // -- Objective Systems Inc., a leading developer of software to support open communications standards, announces the release of Version 6.0 of its ASN1C ASN.1 compiler and run-time libraries.

ASN1C is an all-in-one development solution targeted at developers who produce products based on Abstract Notation One (ASN.1) and XML standards. This latest release adds extensive support for XML Schema Definition Language (XSD) processing in addition to ASN.1.

"The addition of the capability to generate source code from XML schema acknowledges its increasing role as a schema language for defining interoperable interfaces," explained Ed Day, President of Objective Systems. "With this capability in place, developers can now produce W3C-compliant XML for consumers of XML as well as standardized ASN.1-based binary messages for use in constrained, embedded environments where XML is too verbose to work well - a form of 'binary XML.'"

ASN1C is an all-in-one product that generates source code in four different program languages for a given ASN.1 or XSD specification: C, C++, Java, or C# for use in the Microsoft .NET framework. Developers can use the code produced by the compiler in conjunction with the run-time libraries to produce interoperable encoders and decoders for use in many different application types including data communications and security applications.

New features include:

o The capability to generate code directly from XML schema as well as
ASN.1 specifications.

o The use of a new, pull-parser based approach to XML decoding that
eliminates the cumbersome SAX interface and improves decoding
performance by an order of magnitude.

o A new, cross-platform GUI wizard that makes it easier to specify
options to the code generation process.

o Options to generate Visual Studio project files to make building the
generated code easier.

o A revamped and improved approach to generation of C++ stream-based
encoders and decoders.

Evaluation software can be freely downloaded from the company website.
