EX400 LXI-VXI Hybrid Systems Developer's Kit

VXI Technology announces the launch of the EX400, a hybrid systems developer's kit designed to allow ATE and data acquisition system architects to quickly integrate VXI-based subsystems within an LXI instrumentation network.

The core of the EX400 is a 1000 Watt, 13-slot VXI mainframe with industry-leading cooling capacity and a slot 0 module that incorporates a gigabit Ethernet interface that is compliant with the LXI Class A standard. The EX400 provides an open-architecture, VXI-based framework for distributing and synchronizing high channel count measurements through the LXI class definition. Customers can also realize simplified maintenance through an embedded web page with built-in interactive control utilities that are accessible across the world.

Existing VXIbus customers can seamlessly integrate the EX400 into test system designs that include LXI products and create a single network of VXI and LXI instruments. The VXIbus interface comes with industry standard VISA software to ensure that existing application code can be reused with minimal or no modifications.

"There are multiple benefits achieved when integrating the EX400 into an ATE or data acquisition system," commented Tom Sarfi of VXI Technology. "The merging of a high-density modular architecture with a standard as ubiquitous as Ethernet is a powerful combination for our customer base."
