Detection of Milk Adulteration to Be Featured at IDF Stand

FOSS will be present at IDF China, 20 - 23 October. Visitors are welcome at the FOSS stand in the exhibition area where they can hear how the MilkoScan(TM) FT 120 analyser is helping to spot adulteration of milk, for example, if lard is added to milk.

In addition, the recently released new generation milk analyser, the MilkoScan(TM) FT2 will be on display. This new analyser offers even higher accuracy than the MilkoScan FT120. For milk, the accuracy is less than 0.8% CV. This allows standardisation closer to predefined limits with significant financial benefits in terms of production optimisation. Other special features of the MilkoScan FT2 include vibration tolerance and the ability to measure viscous products such as ice cream, yoghurts and whey creams without a dilution step.

The Fossomatic(TM) Minor, somatic cell analyser is another instrument on show at the stand. The analyser has received approval in the USA from the FDA (National Conference of Milk Shippers) as an official method for measuring somatic cells in milk for payment purposes.

Information about the many other FOSS analysis solutions for the milk sector will be available, for instance about the new enhanced BactoScan(TM) FC for bacteria analysis. More than 400 BactoScans are installed at leading laboratories worldwide. With a new software function it is easy to convert Individual Bacteria Counts to Colony Forming Units according to IDF 196 and ISO 21187.

FOSS has been present in China for over thirty years. Currently, the FOSS Group employs more than forty dedicated employees in China and has offices in Beijing , Shanghai and Guangzhou . Local service and support is always available.

The FOSS stand will be open throughout the IDF conference.
