Despatch Industries Builds Custom, High Temperature Oven for Petroleum Industry

Minneapolis, Minn., U.S.A. - Despatch Industries, the world's leading thermal processing equipment provider for over one hundred years, recently completed an order for a custom built, high temperature PTD oven for a customer in the petroleum industry. The new PTD is based on Despatch's market-leading PTC, which is commonly used for burn-in and qualification testing of down-hole logging equipment. The customer plans to utilize the PTD to cure a coating on tools which significantly extends the durability and life expectancy of the tool.

"Our line of high-performance PTC ovens is very popular in the petroleum industry," states Tom Weller, Applications Engineer. "We always welcome the opportunity to expand the product base of our classic models, like the PTC line, to meet our customer's unique requirements. This was a great opportunity to extend our product offering in this growing market."

The custom PTD features a larger chamber size and increased weight capacity, specifically designed for the customer's distinct load requirements. The oven also has an increased maximum temperature of 343°C (650°F) to meet the conditions of the curing application. Prior to shipping, Despatch completed factory testing and the oven performed exceptionally well, achieving ±3°C end-to-end uniformity.

Despatch has specialized in thermal processing for over 100 years and is actively using this technical expertise to provide innovative solutions to critical applications in a broad range of markets and cutting edge technology worldwide.
