Burroughs Introduces Quantum DS - The Next Generation Sorter on the Desktop
PLYMOUTH, Mich. -- Burroughs, Inc., a leader in the payments industry and global provider of item processing equipment for the financial community, is pleased to announce the Quantum DS (desktop sorter), the next generation desktop sorter. The Quantum DS provides the flexibility to process a wide range of payments, combined with the durability and quality that are inherently designed into all Burroughs products and services offerings.
The Quantum DS processes items at 200 documents per minute and offers either 8 or 12 pockets for sorting and improved throughput. With each pocket able to hold up to 200 items, and the ability to define multiple physical pockets as a single logical pocket, the sorter can maintain exceptionally high throughput rates, even with heavy volume users. The item feeder mechanism is designed to enable the insertion of additional items while the sorter is running, providing a virtually unlimited input capability. Available features include: high quality imaging, MICR and optional multi-line OCR and barcode reading and flexible endorsement options, including true-type fonts with logo graphics capabilities. The machine is engineered to be backward compatible with the Burroughs Quantum series, minimizing application integration efforts.
