Janome to Release New Industrial Desktop Robots


Tokyo (JCNN) - Janome Sewing Machine (TSE: 6645) announced August 30 the release of its JR2000N series of the latest industrial desktop robots.

Ideally suited for dispensing, screw fastening, soldering and printed circuit board routing applications, the new robots provide companies with a solid platform to implement multiple application solutions for manufacturing. The products are installed with an enhanced version of the JR Points software to allow for simple teaching, enabling users to quickly program the robot to perform sophisticated tasks. Moreover, the built-in robot language helps expand the versatility of the robots.

The JR2200N, a 3- and 4-axis model which has a operation range of 200x200x50mm, costs 650,000 yen ($5,909). Janome aims to sell 120 units per month in the first year. Shipments began September 1.
