Global Crossing Introduces New Desktop and Mobile Collaboration Applications

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - Global Crossing (Nasdaq: GLBC), a leading global IP solutions provider, today introduced Global Crossing Connect Solutions, a family of applications built on a scalable, standard application programming interface (API) that enables a faster, integrated and seamless collaboration experience. The new downloadable applications - Global Crossing Connect Desktop and Global Crossing Connect Mobile - expand how customers can use Global Crossing Ready-Access® collaboration services.

"Global Crossing Connect Solutions represent a strategic step in our vision to provide a best-in-class collaboration experience for our customers around the world," said Debra Swann, Global Crossing's vice president of marketing. "Our global IP-based platform enables us to be an influential player in the development of leading-edge solutions that enhance the way the world works and communicates."

Global Crossing Connect Desktop enables users to join and manage Ready-Access audio conference calls quickly via a simplified user-friendly icon interface. Participants and chairpersons can join and host meetings with a single click from within the desktop application, without having to remember phone numbers and access codes. Using this new application, users can store and bookmark recurring audio conferences, make operator requests and access account settings, all from the same location. In addition, chairpersons can view and moderate meetings, disconnect or mute lines, invite and manage participants and add security access codes without having to access multiple screens.

Global Crossing Connect Mobile is available for both BlackBerry®* and Android(TM) devices and integrates with their calendars. Once installed, users can host or join scheduled meetings with a single click, eliminating the need to manually dial numbers and access codes.

Enabling these new applications is Global Crossing Connect API, a standard application interface that gives customers more options in how they chose to manage their collaboration experience. By leveraging common web programming technologies through Global Crossing's service layer, Global Crossing Connect API provides clients with a seamless, integrated experience between Global Crossing's collaboration services and their personal application environment.

"As the different ways that people connect and collaborate expand with the growth of mobile and desktop applications, organizations are seeking a more integrated and flexible collaboration tool-set," stated Marc Beattie, managing partner at Wainhouse Research. "Global Crossing Connect Solutions provide customers with a real-time API capability that enables greater flexibility and more efficient access to their collaboration applications. This latest enhancement to Global Crossing's suite of collaboration services represents the next evolution in offering customers the control and ease-of-use they are seeking from a unified communications experience."
