Desktop Migration Software offers simultaneous login support.

Press Release Summary:

ProfileUnity(TM) v4.8 manages user settings separate from underlying Windows OS, even in mixed Windows XP and 7 environments. It reviews contents of user's profile at logoff to determine if changes have been made and only writes back changes to those applications that have been altered, minimizing logoff times. Software also enables disaster recovery of user-authored and personalized data. In addition, it automatically provisions user settings in Office 2010, such as creating Outlook profile.

Liquidware Labs ProfileUnity v4.8 Now Available with Enhanced Multi-Session Login Capabilities and Expanded Office 2010 Support

ProfileUnity reduces logon times, readies enterprises for seamless migrations, and enables persistent user state in non-persistent desktop environments

ATLANTA - Liquidware Labs, the leader in desktop transformation solutions, today announced the availability of Liquidware Labs ProfileUnity(TM) v4.8. Significant product updates include enhanced simultaneous login support and expanded support for Microsoft Office 2010.

Liquidware Labs ProfileUnity is a leader in Windows user virtualization management for physical and virtual environments such as VMware View, Citrix XenDesktop and Citrix XenApp. The solution manages user persona and settings separate from the underlying Windows operating system even in mixed Windows XP and Windows 7 environments. ProfileUnity also enables persistent user settings in non-persistent VDI environments, quick disaster recovery of user authored data, disaster recovery of personalized data in the event of a desktop loss or failure, and the ability to perform an Anytime Migration(TM) from Windows XP or Server 2003 to Windows 7 or Server 2008.

ProfileUnity v4.8 now features enhanced simultaneous user login capabilities. Although simultaneous user login capabilities were previously supported, v4.8 now features the ability to 'write by application-level.' This new feature enables ProfileUnity to intelligently review the contents of a user's profile at logoff to determine if changes have been made and only write back changes to those applications that have changed. The benefits of this feature include a further reduction in logoff times and avoidance of common 'last write wins' conflicts.

Additionally, support for Office 2010 has been expanded. In addition to being able to harvest Office settings, the solution can now automatically provision new users' settings in Office 2010, such as creating an Outlook profile, saving administrators hours of time otherwise spent manually accomplishing the same task.

"ProfileUnity v4.8 adds additional enterprise-level features for organizations of all sizes," said Tyler Rohrer, founder, Liquidware Labs. "The new features ensure seamless user productivity and assist administrators with managing and provisioning new user settings for common tasks that can become a time suck for any IT department. The new features are also a big win for non-persistent pooled VDI environments where changes are not retailed by design and IT often provisions a mix of application virtualization technologies."
