Design Software supports brushed DC and universal motors.

Press Release Summary:

Equipped with DCM module for brushed DC, PMDC, and wound field motors, MotorSolve v4.1 uses automated finite element analysis engine to calculate results and generate field plots. This provides designers with accurate prediction of machine performance without doing any mesh refining or FEA style post-processing. Supporting both lap and wave windings with option to choose either progressive or regressive types, program also includes winding diagram interface.

Original Press Release:

Design Brushed DC and Wound Field Machines with MotorSolve DCM

Montreal, QC - Infolytica Corporation announces MotorSolve v4.1 is now available. This latest update introduces the new DCM module for brushed DC and universal motors. It uses the same powerful automated finite element analysis engine found in the BLDC, IM, SRM and Thermal modules; this means designers can get an accurate prediction of the machine performance without doing any mesh refining or FEA style post-processing.

MotorSolve DCM is a design software for brushed DC, PMDC, and wound field motors; the last of which can be series, shunt or separately excited. The template library includes all common armature and stator geometries.

MotorSolve DCM supports both lap and wave windings with the option to choose either progressive or regressive types. It also features a new winding diagram interface unique to this module.

MotorSolve DCM uses an accurate and fast automated-FEA solver to calculate results and generate field plots - essential for a realistic prediction of the machine's behavior. All the standard performance data can be computed, including: cogging torque, Kt/Ke, back emf calculations with user defined brush shift angle, flux density/linkage, winding losses, demagnetization and much more.

Design parameters, performance data and summary comparisons can be recorded in an experimental log or report. Results are also easily accessible either with the use of the clipboard or export functionality.

The import of custom rotor, armature or stator templates via DXF format is another new feature in v4.1 which is supported in all modules of MotorSolve. This gives the user full control over the complexity of the motor geometry they wish to design.

Some other important additions to this release include:

• New non-linear PWM analysis method for MotorSolve BLDC

• SRM Compatibility with Opal-RT eDriveSim

• Chinese Language Interface
