Desiccant Components serve space-constricted applications.

Press Release Summary:

Created using sorbent loaded thermoplastic technology and intended for applications with limited interior space, PolySorb® Desiccant Components help prevent disturbances created by moisture, VOCs, or oxygen in sealed electronic devices. Structural part of device can be injection molded from desiccant loaded polymer, creating non-dusting, multifunctional PolySorb Component. Several desiccant and desiccant blends can be used in formulation to meet varying moisture adsorption needs.

Multisorb’s Desiccant is Engineered into Product Components Providing Moisture and Volatile Protection to Applications with Little Interior Space

Buffalo, New York – Optical lens fogging, insulation breakdown, semiconductor failure, corrosion of contacts and relays, and shorting are a few of the disturbances created by moisture, outgassed vapors (VOCs), oxygen or combinations of these in sealed electronic devices. In many complex applications with little interior space, using a desiccant packet just isn’t an option. For those applications, Multisorb Technologies introduces PolySorb® Desiccant Components.

PolySorb Components are created using an advanced sorbent loaded thermoplastic technology.  Multisorb can injection mold a structural part of a device from the desiccant loaded polymer, creating a non-dusting, multifunctional PolySorb Component -  the ideal solution for applications that lack available interior space to add a traditional sorbent.

PolySorb Components have been successfully used as a multifunctional component in several applications including hard disk drives, automotive cameras, and laser welders. Several desiccant and desiccant blends can be used in the formulation giving it the versatility to meet varying moisture adsorption needs. Adsorption rates and capacities can be tailored to the application through the polymer formulation.
