DENSO to Exhibit at Auto Shanghai 2013

DENSO Exhibiting Technology That Focus on "Safety and Environment"

KARIYA (Japan) - Global automotive supplier DENSO Corporation will exhibit at the 15th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (Auto Shanghai 2013), in Shanghai from Apr. 21 to 29. DENSO's exhibit, which is located in Hall N5 (booth number B015), will introduce technologies and products that focus on improving fuel efficiency, reducing emissions and helping improve occupant and pedestrian safety.

Main Exhibit

DENSO will display its interactive cockpit, Resonance 2020, which will show visitors how a vehicle will seamlessly connect people, vehicles and society in the future. DENSO's Resonance uses technologies that are here today, like active safety "sensing" technology and vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2X) communication technologies. Combining these technologies gives the vehicle a 360-degree situational awareness of the roadway. This allows the vehicle to provide the driver and occupants with information about traffic congestion or even help avoid a potential collision with another vehicle or pedestrian. The cockpit will also demonstrate how it collects driver's preference to propose a preferred type of shop or restaurant to the driver when visiting new areas.

Exhibits for Safety and Environment:

In the area of safety, DENSO will exhibit the pedestrian collision detection sensor for the Pop-up Hood, millimeter wave radar for Pre-crash Safety (PCS) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) systems. DENSO will also showcase the driver status monitor system that detects a driver's inattentiveness level based on the driver's facial images, and the vehicle-infrastructure cooperative system based on V2X technology.

In the area of environment, DENSO will exhibit products for hybrid and electric vehicles, such as inverters, battery monitoring units for lithium ion batteries, motor stators, and DC-DC converters, and products relating to stop/start systems, such as lithium ion battery packs and cooling storage evaporators.
