Original Press Release:

Hitachi Power Tools Releases the H60MRV SDS Max Demo Hammer that Delivers 19.2 ft/lbs of Impact Energy to Get the Job Done Faster

NORCROSS, GA., October 20, 2005 - Hitachi Power Tools today launched its new 20 lb SDS Max demo hammer, the H60MRV that delivers more impact energy than other competitive hammers in the category. In addition, it features Hitachi's patented IDI technology to withstand the toughest conditions and extend the tool life far beyond competitive models. The design of the tool absorbs vibration so it is less impactful on the user and produces the lowest noise level in its class. The Hitachi H60MRV is engineered to power through concrete and stone materials quickly and illustrates the new aggressive ergonomic design being established by Hitachi.

The H60MRV demolition hammer features a powerful 12.5 Amp motor that delivers 19.2 ft/lbs of impact energy to force its way through materials quickly and easily. It offers constant speed control with a variable speed control dial allowing the user to set the impact rate according to the operation and material. It is one of the quietest demo hammers on the market with a no-load noise level at only 91.5 dB. Bits are easy to change by simply pulling back the retainer, placing a new bit inside the shaft and releasing the retainer. Bits are secured and ready to go.

In Japan, the majority of construction is completed with concrete since wood and other natural resources are limited. Hitachi understands the demands of a demolition tool and the tough environment the tool experiences day in and day out working through concrete and dust that it produces. That is why Hitachi has developed the most sophisticated and innovative technology to increase its durability and longevity. Hitachi's patented IDI (Internal Double Insulation) technology is truly revolutionary. With IDI, the aluminum housing of the demo hammer is intertwined with an injection molded inner nylon core. This technology combines the durability of an all metal body tool with the double insulation advantages of today's tools with plastic housings, which significantly improves tool reliability, safety and greatly extends tool life. Even the armature bearing is seated in aluminum, not plastic, to withstand the high heat and stress resulting from extreme use on the jobsite.

Demolition work can be tough on tools, and equally rough on the users of the tool. Hitachi's H60MRV demo hammer is equipped with a handle that is uniquely designed to absorb vibration. The handle flexes on the sides to isolate and absorb shock. The handle is made from elastomer, a Hitachi patented compound that reduces vibration transfer to the user, while maintaining a secure grip and preventing blisters. In addition, the H60MRV features an adjustable side D-handle that rotates 360 degrees and swivels front to back depending upon the application. A simple variable lock mechanism is utilized to position attachment bits into one of twelve angled positions to accommodate multiple positions of use.

The new demo hammer reflects the aggressive new ergonomic design being implemented by Hitachi Power Tools. Hitachi is pioneering yet another new trend in the industry- tools that incorporate the latest technology with ergonomic design- a look that will modernize the traditional shop or jobsite.

The Hitachi H60MRV comes complete with a bull point (SDS Max) 280mm, hex bar wrench (6mm) and carrying case. It is the ideal demo hammer for demolishing, chiseling, edging, gravel road digging, compacting, grooving and rough cutting through concrete and other hard materials. It is designed for professionals who demand durability and reliability.
