Delphi Expands its Diesel Service Support for the Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket in Europe

Delphi introduces a new all-encompassing repair programme for E1 Electronic Unit Injectors

Delphi launches a new range of heavy duty filters for truck, marine, agricultural and off highway equipment with patented filter technology

PARIS, France - Delphi is a world leader in the innovation, design and manufacture of heavy duty diesel fuel systems with its OE diesel fuel systems found on over 5 million engines around the world, including Volvo, Renault, Hyundai and DAF. Delphi is committed to supporting these OE technologies in the aftermarket and continues to expand its service capability with the launch of new repair programmes, the latest being for E1 Electronic Unit Injectors. Delphi is also leveraging it's expertise in this sector to launch a range of complementary product like heavy duty filters.

"Delphi has firmly established itself as a leading heavy duty diesel fuel injection system manufacturer," states Mike Rayne, Vice President Global Diesel Aftermarket. "This is a strategically important market for Delphi given the growth of the commercial vehicle parc worldwide. We aim to capitalize on this growth by continuing to bring new technologies and service capabilities to the market. This will reinforce Delphi's leading position in the commercial vehicle market".

New Repair Programme For E1 Electronic Unit Injectors

More than 1.75 million of Delphi's original equipment E1 Electronic Unit Injectors have been fitted to popular commercial vehicle applications since its launch. With an out of warranty parc in excess of 1.5 million injectors, and the Independent Aftermarket now accounting for over 50% of the market, this represents a significant service opportunity for Delphi's authorized service dealer network.

To support the servicing of these injectors, Delphi has launched a comprehensive repair programme for E1 injectors fitted to Volvo truck, bus and marine and Renault truck applications, in addition to the existing capability for A-series and Hyundai E1.

The all-encompassing programme is comprised of specialist test equipment based on the Hartridge AVM2 test bench with load cell, plus diagnostics, tooling, test plans, repair parts, technical documentation, training and service support. This programme includes all the elements required to perform a quality repair, thus providing a distinct advantage over competitor's offerings. Moreover, the programme will provide a cost effective service and repair solution for the diesel service network, and as such, will ensure the network is positioned competitively.

New Range Of Heavy Duty Filters

Present market conditions have commercial vehicle owners choosing to service and retain their vehicles rather than committing to new purchases. This, combined with the stresses and strains involved in long distance haulage, means that system maintenance is imperative. Effective filtration is therefore critical.

To support this need, Delphi has developed a new range of heavy duty filters for
truck, marine, agricultural and off highway equipment by drawing on its 60-plus years of experience as a leader in the diesel filter industry, together with its expertise in designing OE commercial vehicle fuel injection systems.

The range incorporates a patented technology which repels free and emulsified water, so engines benefit from near 100% separation of water and removal of particulates down to 2 microns in size. This ensures the quality and reliability you've come to expect from Delphi. The new programme features a rationalised range of spin on filter elements, which, with the planned addition of a selection of heads and bowls, will maximise retrofit opportunities. See-through bowls enable the user to monitor filter effectiveness, and a self venting drain means there's no downtime whilst draining. And when it's time for service, just replace the filter element and reuse the bowl. It's clean, fast and economical. This technology is equipped to key applications including Iveco, Mercedes, Renault and Volvo. Delphi's comprehensive range of diesel filters supports over 14,000 applications, providing 95% coverage of the European diesel parc.
